DESIGN CONSULTATION
This is a perfect service for a client that needs help with projects that are currently “stuck”. Everything from paint, wallpaper, window coverings, artwork and furniture placement, storage and functional solutions. These types of consultations also work for those starting a new build or reno and need some help with design direction.
EXTERIOR RESIDENTIAL CONSULTATION AND/OR DESIGN
Windows & door styles, paint colours, eaves, downspouts etc. Making these choices for a new build, or just an upgrade can be overwhelming. We can design options for you so that you can better see what option best suits you and your neighbourhood.
INTERIOR STYLING
This service is for the client that would like some help organizing and styling their personal effects, with suggestions on updates. This includes styling for special Holidays – Christmas, events, parties etc.
Procurement packages available to quote upon request
Consults & Styling – $250 for the 1st hour + $100/ additional hour
We suggest preparing a list of items and questions to review so the hours are efficiently used and nothing is missed.
FULL DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Full Design Service is for clients that would like to work together for the full project. We focus on medium to large, full scale projects, whether you’re doing a New Build/Renovation with Furniture & Decor or Renovation exclusively. Collaborating with us includes access to our preferred contractors and suppliers. We’ll establish a scope of work, a budget and timeline that captures the integrity of your space and design vision.
The design and planning of your project can take between 3 to 5 months of work before any physical work begins.

Step 1 Contact Us
Our process will start with a 10-20 min Discovery Phone Call (free of charge) to discuss your project and how MDL Interiors works, to see if it is a good fit and if we would like to meet. If we decide to meet we ask that you share any research you have done so far. (many clients have already started to tear magazine pages or save pinterest/instagram images) so we have an even better idea of your project scope and style.
Step 2 On Site Meeting
At the onsite meeting we will review your full wish list (prepared in advance of meeting) we will take photos and discuss the initial concept as well as the budget and timeline.
The On-site meeting has a duration of approximately 1.5-2 hours. Following this meeting you will be emailed a quote from MDL Interiors.
Should the quote be approved, we can schedule a phone call to review any questions, review next steps and schedule the next meeting.
Note. In order to begin Step 3, the first payment is collected.
Step 3 Conceptual Meeting
Concept development, mood boards, OPTIONS are presented. This is where we get excited! You could even start to see samples at this time.
(Measurements & Photos are done previous to, and in preparation of this meeting)
The Concept Presentation generally takes place 2 -3 weeks after the quote is approved, depending on scope and availability.
Step 4 Design, Sample and Finishing Presentations
We will review the layout, samples (tile, flooring etc), and actual purchase finishings (lighting, etc) Following completion of this package, you will start to receive an estimate from our preferred General Contractor for client consideration, and the contractor quote gets finalized as we finalize the finishings and layout.
This stage has some back and forth as we finalize the finishings, estimates, layout. This process could take 2-3 more meetings before all is finalized.
Step 5 Contractor Signed, Orders and Purchasing
MDL Interiors will provide you with a final list of finishings to approve and the purchasing will start, whether it is finishings for the contractor or furniture, art and accessories as final touches.
During this time, client and contractor would sign the contract, including an agreed upon start date.
Step 6 Construction Starts, Construction Process
MDL Interiors does a full briefing to contractor before construction begins
Once construction starts, MDL Interiors will do site visits as there are always little details that are caught in person and can provide on site guidance if required.
Step 7 Load-in & Styling
This stage can take time depending on delivery times. Furnishings can be waiting in a storage locker, or purchased once construction is finished, all depending on Client request and budget.
Styling can also be included in the furniture decor package, once the furniture is all in place a date is scheduled for styling.
